Some company and self-pacifying

We had some company last night. Austin was happy to see (and hangout with) Diane, Aunt Steph and Granny 'Ciw (pronounced "shoe"), . He was pretty well behaved, so it made for a pleasant evening for everyone (hopefully!). Thanks to Diane for bringing a delicious pumpkin bread (with chocolate chips and chocolate icing)--very tasty.

He decided last night that he preferred to stay awake and cry fussily for 2+ hours instead of sleeping (and thus preventing, Daddy from resting as well). He was able to be soothed, however, especially with a little gentle bouncing to his favorite song. Ok, so maybe he doesn't have a favorite song per see, but he consistently quiets for Joe Satriani's Flying in a Blue Dream.

And finally, Austin found his thumb this morning for the first time. He had explored his mouth with his thumb before, but this was the first time he isolated the thumb from the rest of his hand and latched/sucked on to it for a few minutes
