Yep...he has finally outgrown the very cool and convenient infant carrier that had worked so well for us to date. Yesterday morning Keith went to storage and picked up the new car seat and put it in the car while Austin was eating lunch. Later in the day, on his way home from Achieve, it was time to ride in style in his new "big boy" car seat.
The seat pictured will now be his seat until he no longer needs one. It will turn around to be front-facing after he is 1 year old. It is rated for children up to 65 pounds, so there is PLENTY of space for him to grow into it without risk of outgrowing his surroundings like he did with the infant carrier.
And in case you wondering, yes, Christine did cry...not because she is going to miss the convenience of being able to transition him from place to place in the infant seat without constantly unbuckling him (although she will), but because it is moments like this that we realize how fast he really is growing up on us. Our little guy is developing so quickly, it is hard to wrap our minds around the thought sometimes. It seems like it was just yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital.
