The End of an Era...

Wow, it has only been a short 3+ years, but there have been a lot of things that we have shared with you, our friends and families. over the years here at the Waldron Family Chronicles...and we are very thankful for all those who have peeked in(over 7,900 visits over that time) to see what we were up to and how Austin was growing up. But with this, our 382nd post, our run comes to an end.

In anticipation of having a new baby girl, Keith has been debating in his own mind the virtues of privacy on the internet. To date, all of our stories, videos and pictures are "unlisted" and someone needs to have the physical link to access materials, but Keith has become increasingly weary of posting things online, especially with one child getting older, and another eventually growing older as well. There a lot of sickos out there, and in Keith's paranoid mind, the system that we were using to share information with our loved ones falls short of Keith's intentions regarding privacy. As result, this blog will remain "open" as it is as long as blogger.com will host it for us, but it will no longer be updated.

So...where do we go from here? We would like to formally announce the launch of waldronfamily.info, a blog hosted on our own server with content to be controlled and password protected exclusively by us, and us alone. Waldronfamily.info is a little more streamlined than this particular blog, and will hopefully be more accessible to those who have struggled with some adjustments that have been made to this blog and the albums that go with it. No longer will photos, videos and stories/postings be at different locations. You will be able to find everything "Waldron" with one click of mouse on the front page at waldronfamily.info. In addition, by making waldronfamily.info (with all of it's contents) password protected, we will be able to us twitter more effectively by not needing to keep tweets private.

The plan is to use twitter for 2 purposes: (1) To share brief anecdotes that don't justify a blog posting per-see, but people may find interesting or amusing and (2) to let people know when we have updated the blog. Obviously, with privacy being a chief concern, we will NOT be sharing personally identifiable information on twitter...it is simply a nice way to let you know if something has changed on the blog without making the reader dig through a bunch of different photo albums and video galleries to hunt for potential changes. Besides, sometimes Austin has some really cool things to say that are ideal for twitter too.

I am including a tutorial on waldronfamily.info below for you convenience, to help show you what the new blog has to offer. Again, this new blog is password protected. This will require you to contact us directly to receive the password. You can reach us by phone, text, Facebook or email. For those who don't have that information readily available to them, they can simply email Christine at moxycat@twcny.rr.com; she will promptly reply to your email within 24 hours (usually). Understandably, acquiring the password may be a slight inconvenience, but we feel better about it this way, and once you have the password, we think you will find waldronfamily.info to be an other-wise user friendly experience.
