This weekend has been (and should continue to be) fairly mellow. Aunt Peggy and Uncle Kevin came to visit yesterday to watch the soccer game, play with Austin and eat some dinner (a day in which Christine and Keith were bad parents and failed to take a single photograph or video)...but it is not anticipated that we will have any further "blog-worthy" experiences for the rest of the day. But last weekend was a little different in that we traveled Jonestown, PA to visit Dan, Kelly, Isabella, Potter* and Guiness*.
It has been too long since we had all gotten to hang out together. So long in fact, that we hadn't even had an opportunity to meet the lovely Isabella in person yet. She was (as you can see pictured above) beautiful...which isn't to say that Kelly can't hold her own either...you wouldn't have known that she just had a baby a few short months ago. Austin was a good friend to Isabella and was on his best behavior all weekend.
The only thing bad thing about the weekend was the oppressive heat near 90 degrees both days with 70+% humidity...we were very thankful that they had cental AC to keep us all cool! Dan was awesome and made an assortment of homemade items to eat throughout the weekend (e.g. potato salad, pizzas, omelettes) and allowed Austin to help him. Cold beer on tap, admittedly, is always a nice little bonus as well.
As much as Austin enjoyed visiting with Isabella, cooking with Dan and playing with Potter/Guiness...the highlight for him had to be our afternoon visit to Hershey's Chocolate World. In Chocolate World, the Hershey Co. does everything that they can possibly think of to expose the guests to some of the greatest smells and sights possible prior to parading you through their "gift shop" where there are chocolate confections, candies, and products as far as the eye can see. The best part for Austin was a ride that took us through a faux chocolate factory, showing how the cacao beans eventually become the candies that we find at our grocer's counters. He especially liked the singing cows, who he felt the compulsive need to wave to throughout the ride.

Although the stay was too short, it was so very nice to visit with the Kelly an Dan once again, and it was great to meet Isabella...a more beautiful girl could not have happened to two more deserving people. We know that as we all get older and our responsibilities grow, get-togethers like this become increasingly difficult to arrange and follow through on, but hopefully not as much as time will pass before we see each other again.
