Now...for those of you at Christine's baby shower, you may be a bit confused. The blanket in the video above is not really new in the sense that it was just recently made or purchased. It was new in the respect that Austin had never seen it before, so it was new to him.
Austin LOVED his old blankets...they were baby-blue, soft and he was always happy to go to bed so that he could have his blanket (the only time we let him use one...the rule is that they stay in the crib unless he is rocking in the chair with Mommy/Daddy in the nursery). The problem was that the nights were getting cooler and he was getting too big for the other blankets, thus, a change needed to be made. So...in an effort to try to transition him from the old blankets to the new, we thought it would be nice for Austin to know that this "new" blanket was from Grandma. Needless to say, it worked like a charm and he has been happily calling the fish blanket his "new" blanket ever since.
