At around 10:30 this morning, we got in the car (with lunch packed for Austin), and began a drive to Binghamton. We had made arrangements to eat lunch at Applebee's. Granted, Applebee's itself is not worth driving 75 miles for...and even if it were worth the drive, there is one (if not 4 or 5) that is in closer proximity to Chittenango than the Binghamton location. However, we were to meet Jay, Julie and Xander there...and we hadn't seen them in nearly one year. They were driving into Scranton to visit Julie's family, so both families decided to meet in the middle. Thus, our drive to Binghamton to eat at Applebee's.
Both boys were VERY well behaved at the restaurant. Granted, there was the occasional Austin fuss or yell, and the once in a while drumming of forks on the table by Xander, but we can't really complain considering that both boys (Xander more than Austin) had been couped up in their respective carseats getting to Binghamton.
After lunch, both families went to a local park and played at the playground. Austin was a bit less explorative than Xander, but both boys had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, after what seemed to be too brief an amount of time, we parted ways to return to our respective homes. Keith, Christine and Austin would like to thank the Mock's for spending the extra time in their car to spend the afternoon with us. We all had a wonderful time and hope that we don't have to wait another year before we can all get together again...especially if Austin were to always sleep so well on the way home!
