The Mocks come over to visit

Saturday after lunch, Jason, Julie and (Ale)Xander came to visit from Bethlehem, PA.

They arrived at about 1:30 and stayed until around 7...it was so nice to have them come over, especially considering that it had been too long between our last visit as couples (let alone the addition of children). Xander is the man!! He was SO incredibly happy and content throughout the afternoon, and despite Julie and Jay's constant apologizing for his high activity level, was an absolute pleasure to have in our home.

Unfortunately, Austin had a very long morning...painters were working upstairs in the morning and were somewhat loud, which prevented him from getting a substantive nap until much later in the afternoon. Of course, we had no idea that he would be so tired when we made plans with Julie earlier the week...so they came over to meet Austin only to have him fall asleep 30 mins after they arrived and wake up 45 mins before they were to leave.

It was really cool to see Austin take an interest in another young child though, and he really was into Xander (as you can see above)...and this isn't one of those "fleeting moments caught on camera"---he really looked and smiled at Xander for a few minutes. Xander got bored more quickly, but kids aren't so much a novelty to him as they are to Austin.

As we moved into the early evening, it was getting close to Moxy's meal time, so she decided to come out of the bedroom to find a very mobile 1 year old boy who had an interest in approaching and possibly playing with her. As flattered as she was, she politely asked for a rain check. At least that is how perceived it.

A big thanks to Jay and Julie for coming out to see us: we had a great time and really enjoyed your company...we will definitely have to be sure to get together again in the spring.
