Happy New Year

Apologies for not updating since Monday, but things have been a bit busy (yet at the same time fairly uneventful- guess that is parenthood, huh?).

New Year's Eve was a very enjoyable evening. Bret, Nicole and Mikey Rickard came by for dinner and desert. For dinner, Christine served up some roasted potatoes, barbecued chicken, sweet corn and biscuits. For desert, The Rickards brought over ice cream with all the fixings (caramel, chocolate, peanut butter and strawberry toppings with cherries). They came over to visit after Keith and Bret finished working at their respective offices (around 6pm) and enjoyed some casual drinks, conversation (often revolving around how old we were getting by spending New Years at home with children), and watching the ball drop. Yep...we all managed to stay awake and together long enough to ring in the 2008 together.

What was funny was loading up the pictures this morning and realizing that no pictures of Austin were taken with our camera (although quite a few were taken with Bret/Nicole's). Instead, we have pictures of Moxy begging for ice cream at the end of the night, Keith making her sundae for her (caramel topping, vanilla ice cream and a cherry), her eating her sundae, and finally licking her lips afterward.

We promise that the next entry will have more Austin related info and pics...but we promise you he is doing very well and growing up very quickly!
