After waking up and getting dressed, he went for a walk with Daddy through town to give Mommy and opportunity to get showered and prepared for her first OB appointment since Austin's birth. After she was finished getting ready, Christine came and picked up Keith and Austin and everyone went to her doctor's appointment.
Christine brought lemon bars for the staff of the office and a bouquet of flowers for the doctor (Dr. Song). She only broke down and cried once, when thanking Dr Song for being so poised during her delivery and doing her best to allow Christine to have the natural birth she so badly desired. The most important note of the appointment: Christine received a clean bill of health, so she can return to the gym and doesn't need to go back to the doctor until her annual check-up in one year.
After Keith went to work, Austin had a very special visitor stop by to see him for the first time. Joanne, a friend from in town, stopped by to visit and brought Austin a very cool gift...a personalized birthday memento. It is really neat and includes a bunch of cool facts about the day Austin was born I have attached a picture below that is linked to a full size image that will allow you to read everything on it. Austin proved to be a little fussy for Joanne, but he was generally good, and he and Christine both enjoyed her visit.
As if he hadn't already had a busy enough day (hey, it may not seem like a lot to you, but he doesn't usually do much in a day or see many people)--Austin accompanied Christine to the Rickard Rehab holiday party (picture of Carrie Rickard--the big boss lady below). Everyone met up at Que Pasta (Saddle Brook, NJ--home of the area's best vodka sauce!) and Austin hung out with the group for about 3 hours and was very well behaved (translation: he slept a lot). Of course, by sleeping throughout the early evening, he wasn't too tired during the night...thus Keith's initial posting today at 4:55 am.
Hope everyone has a great day...hopefully Keith will find time to take a nap.
