A good day for Mommy

After visiting the dentist at 9 am (ugh), Christine returned home yesterday only to have Keith leave right away to run some errands before work...these errands included getting her birthday gift, cards, roses, and Dunkin Donuts (coffee cake muffin with decaf coffee) and bringing it back home for her. Keith surprised her with the roses and the lit candle in the muffin (yes, while singing "Happy Birthday").

After Keith left to go to work, Liz and Emily stopped by for a visit. Austin was a little too self-absorbed (he must get that from his Daddy) to really notice how cute Emily was...or maybe he is just intimidated by girls who are bigger than he is. Either way, Christine really enjoyed their company, and Daddy is going to work on Austin's social skills with the little ladies (maybe he should have a better tutor?)

Throughout the day, Christine received a tremendous number of phone calls from friends and family...she was thrilled to have been on the minds of so many people. Their calls made her feel truly loved and they were very much appreciated (she mentioned the number of phone calls numerous times throughout the evening). Christine's mother and sister also came over in the during the day to keep her company and help celebrate the day. Meanwhile, she had also received a beautiful floral arrangement from Joelle earlier in the day as well. It is so cool that she is surrounded by so many people who care about her as much as they do.

When Keith came home, he brought in a raspberry-filled cake (from Reinhold's in Waldwick) with 29 candles (+1 for good luck) and a small gift. When she was pregnant in May, Keith had given Christine a "Willow Tree" figure of a mother-to-be for Mother's Day; for her birthday, she received a mother with child....an evolution of sorts.

Austin also somehow managed to get a birthday card for his mother as well. If only his dexterity was good enough to allow him to sign his own name.
