Thanksgiving was very fun...lots of love to go around for Austin. Traffic was cooperative in both directions in and out of Queens to visit the McKenna household. Austin was quiet in his car seat in both directions as well. The football games were boring, but the company was enjoyable and outside of about 1 hour of fussiness from the little guy, everything (especially the abundance of food) went very well.
We arrived back at our apartment by 12:30 Friday morning, and were back on the road by 6:00 (yep, only 4-5 hours of sleep) on our way to visit Grandma and Grandpa Waldron. Again, Austin was awesome...he slept all the way to Scranton, ate, then slept all the way to the metropolis that is Hannibal, NY. He was a bit fussy Friday night (but after sleeping in the car so much, Mom and Dad couldn't complain).
Saturday was Austin's first opportunity to meet his Great-Grandparents...and it was love at first sight. A lot of pictures and video were taken to document this very cool event!! 4 generations together for the first time...Great Grandma with Great Grandpa, Grandma, Dad, and baby Austin...happy and thankful for this precious time spent together.
The videos below are small snippets of the afternoon spent together:
Austin slept really well in the car, and went immediately into Great-Grandma's arms where he was still sleepy, but very comfy...
Then it was Great-Grandpa's turn, but Austin was waking up, and a bit gassy too...
After some soothing from Grandma, Austin was comfy once again, and enjoying the company of his Great-Grandfather...
Oh yeah, his Mommy still gets in her time with her son too, even though she has been sharing him a lot this weekend...
That's all to report for now. We are expecting more visitors today including Great-Aunts (Pat and Vicki) as well as Mark, Jess, James and Riley. We are planning on returning to NJ very early in the morning on Monday (5 am departure) to avoid the terrible traffic back into the tri-state area on Sunday night and still let Keith arrive in NJ in time to go to work by 1 pm.
Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend, we certainly are!
